Born in 1953, William E. Moeger spent his childhood years roving the farmlands and woods near his home in Richfield, Minnesota. Now married with two grown children, Bill currently resides in Chaska, Minnesota.

Bill attended the Hennepin Technical College, and shortly after graduation launched his career as an independent graphic designer and illustrator. Over the last 34 years Bill has met with success time and again receiving numerous awards and admirable achievements.

Bill has enjoyed a freedom and flexibility as he works in all phases of marketing and publishing. He specialized in print and branding and has worked closely over the years with clients throughout the publishing industry (Hadley House), and the fine arts (The Museum of Russian Art, Overland Gallery of Fine Art).

With a diverse clientele and an interest in all forms of art, Bill has developed a unique skill set. He has a remarkable ability to work in a wide variety of mediums and styles including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, pastel and sculpture. His creations range from whimsical to technical to traditional.

Inspired by what he saw in nature, Bill began to draw the landscape at an early age: A love that continues today. His interest is to capture form, color and texture to convey a sense of “Place” rather than detail.

Bill takes some of his inspiration from the artists he’s worked with and been exposed to over the years. From Russian expressionists such as Aleksei Gritsai, Sergei & Aleksei Tkachev, Oleg Vassiliev, to the contemporary work of artists such as Gary Ernest Smith, Ed Mell and Martin Grelle, among others. Bill is both enriched and challenged by their work.

Bill focuses on “The Landscape” and has explored the reaches of oil through texture, technique and balanced expressionism. While he has a great breadth of work, he has only recently begun exposing his fine art portfolio to the outside world.
